MEC Gives Away More than 3,000 Rock and Mineral Boxes to Teachers in 2023
MEC has attended two National Science Teaching Association (NSTA) Conferences on Science Education in 2023. The first was in March in Atlanta, GA, and the second one in October in Kansas City, MO. At both events, MEC volunteers worked with teachers to fill rock and mineral boxes to take back to their classrooms. These free educational kits are always a big hit with teachers at conferences. Providing hands-on samples, along with helpful information and other educational materials as well as pertinent follow-up links, gives teachers an enjoyable way to learn more about the importance of mined minerals in everything we do.
