NSTA 2023 Kansas City


The 2023 NSTA National Conference on Science Education was held in Kansas City on October 25-28, 2023. MEC handed out 1000 free rock and mineral boxes and educational resources like flyers and posters on the importance of minerals and mining to teachers.

The MEC website has an abundance of free K-12 educational resources and low cost supplemental materials.

K-12 education is especially for teachers!  From this page, you can access the MEC Education Database as well as the educational standards teacher tool.

MEC store has posters, kits and other low cost supplemental education resources to enhance your classroom.

Mining and minerals information is the place to start exploring more about mining and minerals and how important they are to our daily lives.  From here you can access the Mineral Resources Database, the interactive Periodic Table of the Elements, and more.

Careers focuses on jobs in the mining industry.  The minerals and mining industry has a host of exciting, well-paying, STEM-related careers.

The Earth Science Week page is the place to access all of the educational resources MEC has developed yearly for the American Geosciences Institute’s Earth Science Week celebrations.

Mining and mineral statistics takes you to the popular MEC Mineral baby, updated annually to show the quantity of minerals an American will use in their lifetime.
